Interview with Christine Jaeggi

Christine Jaeggi is the laureate of the first e-ditio independent publishing award.
We are delighted to gain her over for a short interview:

How did you discovered your editor Mrs. Alice Grünfelder?

Through the organization AdS (Authors of Switzerland), I found the web page „”, where Mrs. Alice Grünfelder was registered. I knew that she is the right person for my book due to her professional web page ( — especially due to her phrase “You are looking for someone who proofreads your book insightful and imaginative …”

Which experience do you have with editors?

“Fatale Schönheit” (Fatal beauty) is my debut novel and therefore my first experience with an copyeditor. I think I can be really happy having found such a competent editor. Mrs. Grünfelder looked into the text and the characters very intensive and gave me useful tips. I also owe her the book title.

Do you see any quality problems with self publishing?

I think that a lot of self publishers are fully aware about the importance of a accurate copyediting, especially to survive on the huge book market nowadays.
I even read a lot of books from self publishers and realize, how good those words are. Unfortunately, there are also books of low quality, and usually they miss an editorial. But the readers are demanding, and therefore quality will always win at the end.

Marketing in the book industry

The Creative Service Center of WeTeK Berlin gGmbH &  Berliner Bücherfrauen invited on the 3rd of June 2015 in Grüner Salon to discuss how we may change the "poor but sexy" image of the cultural professionals. It quickly became apparent that the focus can be set on the key words "visibility, specialization, courage and curiosity".

  • Patricia Holland-Moritz (Author)
  • Moderation: Yvonne de Andrés (Marketing- and Salesexpert in the book industry)
  • Denise Sudau (Cofounder e-ditio)

provided information and discussed the topics.
